How to Glow: 6 Essential Steps for Radiant Summer Skin
There’s something about the heat of summer that make us want to simplify so many parts of our lives. When it comes to skincare in the summer, layering serums and moisturizers suddenly feels unnecessary. Days spent by the beach or weeks living out of a travel bag certainly don’t lend themselves to a lengthy regimen. Whether your reasoning is lightweight wear or just a carefree approach to caring for your skin, we agree that less is more! So here are our simple steps for Radiant Summer Skin.
1. A Hydrating Cleanser
Your first step this summer will of course be a cleanser. We recommend opting for something hydrating that will not strip the skin of its natural oils.
2. A Gentle Exfoliant
Exfoliation is key to radiance year round! You can opt for either a physical exfoliant (like a gentle scrub) or an acid based exfoliant (say AHA, BHA or Retinoids) to let your skin release dead skin cells and leave your bright glowing skin from within. Ensure you exfoliate as part of your evening skin ritual, to further protect from sun sensitization.
3. A Hydrating Toner
Whether you opt for an essence or a toner, we recommend choosing one that will push moisture into the skin at the first step! Look for products that are rich in calming, soothing and hydrating ingredients.
4. A Hydrating and Brightening Serum
The next step is your serum. This adds a layer of hydration without suffocating the skin. We recommend choosing formulas that include active ingredients like hyaluronic acid, niacin amide, vitamin C, vitamin E and soothing botanicals to quench and protect your skin.
5. A Nourishing Facial Oil
Here of course comes our facial oil! Our Bedouin Elixir Facial Oil adds a protective layer of naturally occurring antioxidants to further protect your skin from free radicals and environmental skin stressors, whilst enhancing your radiance throughout the day.
Finally, the last and perhaps most important summer skin step is your sunscreen. In this season we are exposed to the sun fro extended periods of the day and so sun protection is a must. We recommend a broad-spectrum SPF of 30 or higher. Don’t forget that your sunscreen needs to be reapplied throughout the day too!
