I have a vintage jewelry collection that I have been collecting since I was 9 with my aunt when we drove across country in the summers. We visited many antique stores over the years along the way and this is where my love of jewelry began. In college I started to buy and sell vintage jewelry and one day a client recommended I start my own jewelry line and use previous metals and stones. I really liked this idea and I started to create my own line.
In today's Beauty Insider Interview, I have the absolute pleasure of interviewing my friend and the founder of Tracee Nichols Jewelry, the woman behind it herself- Tracee Nichols!
What led you to starting Tracee Nichols Jewelry?
What’s the process like when you are designing a collection? How do you draw inspiration?
My inspiration comes from what I want to communicate. All of my Token jewelry has meaning and it draws on very bold and courageous symbols and meaning.
I have fairly sensitive skin and I like to protect my skin and use sunblock daily. I try to stay out of the sun as much as possible now, which is very different to when I was younger and I wanted to be as tan as possible! I use gentle cleansers and as organic as possible with cleansers and creams. I hydrate my skin every day with skin oil.
What’s your go to beauty routine?
What does beauty mean to you?
Confidence is beauty. This is completely true for me. I see beauty all around me in all different shapes and sizes. When I see someone who is confident in themselves it is very noticeable and no matter what they look like or what they are wearing —this is beauty to me.
Infrared Sauna. I try to go in as much as possible. I have seen my skin completely change since doing this regularly.
What’s your favorite beauty secret?
Recently, I moved to Texas and I noticed something very different than any other place I have lived. There is definitely Southern Hospitality here. I have had people say to me, “I appreciate you.” I remember thinking, “wow, this is someone who doesn’t even know me and when I am in a store and I go to leave, they say, “ I appreciate you.” This is beautiful. I would look at the person saying this and they were being kind and they meant what they had said. Being genuine and honest in my eyes, makes someone beautiful.
What makes someone beautiful?
A very good friend of mine said, you have to try Omayma Skin, the Facial Oil you will be obsessed.
How did you come across Omayma Skin?
She was right!
I love this product. I use it in the evenings and my skin is baby soft in the mornings.
How do you like to use the Bedouin Elixir Facial Oil?
Jennifer Garner. She is very youthful and natural looking and smiles a lot!
Heading to Hawaii soon and I will be bringing My Obagi Sunblock, Gucci slides, Melissa Odabash beach coverup (if you don’t know this swim wear line, you have to check it out!), and Cult Gaia dress and Rummikub game.
You’re going on vacation, what do you bring with you?
What are some of your current favorite beauty products?
Are there any beauty trends you’d like to see come back?
Regular jeans, not too high and not too low—LOL! and Frosted lipsticks.
What’s your skin philosophy?
Eating healthy shows off your skin the best way! Sometimes it’s hard, especially with all of the traveling I have been doing lately. Even if I can get a green juice daily I feel like I am helping the cause for my good skin. Sleeping is so important. If I can get 7-8 hours of sleep a night, I feel good and it also shows in my skin. Exercise also has so many benefits for skin and detoxing and sweating out all of the toxins.
