The Facial Edit: My Personal Philosophy on Skin, Chemical Peels, and the Ritual of Renewal.

There’s a certain moment during a facial - right when the steam softens the edges of your breath and the world falls quiet - that I think of as sacred.
It’s where transformation begins.

As someone who has spent years behind the treatment bed (from red-carpet skin prep in Hollywood to quiet skin rituals in my Clearwater studio), I’ve come to see facials as so much more than skincare. They’re a dialogue between your body and your nervous system. Between who you are and how you show up in the world.

When I work on a face, I’m not just treating pores. I’m reading skin that tells stories of stress, travel, hormones, heartbreak, and laughter. Skin that’s alive and evolving.

My Take on Peels: Rebirth, Not Stripping

When people hear “chemical peel,” they often picture harsh acids and snake-like, flaking skin. But in my world, a peel is a rebirth. It’s refinement, never aggression.

Over the years, I’ve curated and blended peels for every kind of skin and personality.
Here’s how I think of them:

  • Lactic Acid: My go-to for dry, reactive, or mature skin. It hydrates while it gently dissolves dullness. It’s the facial equivalent of silk sheets.

  • Mandelic Acid: I call this the “introvert peel.” It’s slow, steady, and calming, perfect for rosacea, breakouts, or those who are easily irritated.

  • Glycolic Acid: A glow accelerator. When I’m preparing a client for a big moment, whether it be a shoot, an event, or a wedding, this is the polish that refines everything.

  • TCA or Jessner’s Peels: Reserved for the clients I know deeply. These are layered, clinical, and transformative. These are the kind of treatments that resurface acne scarring, melasma, or years of sun exposure. But only when your skin is ready for that level of renewal.

The secret is intention. A peel should never punish the skin. It should whisper to it, coaxing it back to its natural rhythm.

Preparing for Your Facial: What I Tell My Clients

Facials work best when your skin isn’t already in defense mode. I always tell clients to take it easy the week before — skip harsh exfoliants, pause retinoids, and don’t try new actives.

Hydrate. Sleep. And come as you are.
Your skin speaks more clearly when it’s not masked by stress or product buildup.

If you’re coming in for a peel, avoid waxing or tanning a few days before. I want your skin calm, balanced, and ready to receive.

Aftercare: Where the Real Healing Happens

The glow you see when you leave the studio? That’s just the overture. The real magic unfolds in the days after.

Post-treatment, I tell clients to think of their skin as sacred — hydrated, simplified, and protected.
No scrubs, no actives, no retinoids for three nights.

Hydrate. Mist. Nourish with our oil.
And wear SPF like it’s oxygen.

Your barrier is rebuilding itself, and every drop of moisture and rest supports that renewal.

How Often I Recommend Facials

The skin regenerates roughly every 28 days, which is why monthly facials are ideal. But that’s not a rule. It’s a rhythm.

For acne or pigmentation, I might see clients every two to three weeks to accelerate transformation. For maintenance, every month is perfect.

The truth is, skin thrives on consistency. The more I see your skin, the more I understand it — and that’s when the real alchemy begins.

Why It Matters So Much to Me

Every facial I give is deeply personal. When my hands touch someone’s skin, I feel the tension, the exhaustion, the parts of themselves they’ve forgotten to nurture. I’ve seen skin come back to life in ways that bring people to tears - and that’s the part that never gets old.

That’s why I created Omayma Skin. To continue that healing beyond the facial bed. To bring that same intention, that same reverence for skin, into your daily rituals at home.

If you’ve been craving that feeling - the reset, the clarity, the soft new glow, this is your sign to book a facial. Not because your skin needs fixing, but because you deserve to feel renewed.

When your skin feels alive again, so do you.
